Reports of Sinbad's demise have been greatly exaggerated. Following in the (not-so) proud tradition of Jaleel White, Kel Mitchell, and Jon Heder, the comedian has been dogged by rumors of his premature demise. Like all Web-based rumors, this one spread through across the country in a matter of minutes.

Folks curious about the comedian's condition pushed Sinbad searches to an all-time high. Queries on the funny man jumped 142% yesterday and are still bombarding the Search box today. Related searches on "sinbad death" and "sinbad comedian" also pelted the Buzz as curious fans came to the Web for a definitive answer.

As with the other celebs who have fallen victim to this particularly pernicious rumor, it turns out Sinbad is alive and well. Now if only we could start a rumor that would get "First Kid Part II" into production...

No, the rumor started when a user on Wikipedia edited his biography to say he had died of a heart attack. Wikipedia has since caught the error, corrected and locked the biography and issued an apology to Sinbad.

Nope, he's alive and well. He was interviewed on the Tom Joyner morning show today. He said he first found out from his daughter that he was dead. She was upset because a lot of her friends were calling her to give her support in her time of bereavement.

No he got on stage today to tell everyone that he is very much alive. His daughter told him he was dead on the internet so he went to prove people wrong.
