It seems to be, because you always hear a man putting down a fat woman, even though he's got a beer belly and a fat chin.

Society, as a whole, seems to be exceedingly more accepting of a man being overweight, than a woman being overweight. In fact, it's widely known that a man with little or no hair, wrinkles around the eyes, and a less than perfect body, is considered very attractive, whereas, the image of a beautiful woman, seems to be one who is 5'9", weighs 100 pounds, and has large artificially enhanced breasts, no wrinkles and puffy lips due to injections made from poison. Definitely, a double standard, don't you think?

NO!!! It isnt more acceptable for anyone to be overweight unless it is a diagnosed illness. It is VERY unhealthy for anyone and everyone.

It seems so and isn't fair!! It's ok for a man to have a belly hanging over his pants but if a woman does she's fat. Glad I don't have to worry bout that! But yea, it's more accepted.

Absolutely, unfair as it is. You'll never see Beauty and the Geek with 10 hot guys and 10 dorky girls. It wouldn't be nearly as "interesting".

H*ll yes it is,but I find chubbier men more attractive,I want a more soft body type, with a belly, rather than a hard rock body.

Well, woman strive to be "thin" where as men feel the pressure to be "in shape." So we both have to deal with the ideal body image.

I think it is.

Personally, I like my guys a little chunky. My husband has a great body because he works hard.. when I married him he had a gut. I miss his gut.

Yes, there seems to be a double standard here.
