AHAH!
I remember people doing that all the time when I played games more in my youth, although I myself never did it.
I'm pretty sure it's like driving a car, people want to interact more with the game, so the controller moves along with the character or whatever.

For me, it feels like you are part of the game. Most people do it, because they probably get too sucked into the game, and they REALLY can't make that next turn, but want to.

I do because like when you didn't want to make that move so for some reason you want to move it some more thinking the player will make the player move.

for me its an unconcious effort to "help" the character out. I think it is because I really get into the game.

my 5 year old son does that with resistance:fall of man for my ps3.i would say it is a lack of poor hand/eye coordination.practice makes perfect!!!!!its cute yet annoying!!!!!
