I'm the world's greatest baby when it comes to pain, and I'm an adult! I took the plunge last year and suddenly I wanted to get my ear pierced. I was all hyped up and held my breath, heart beating like I was gonna have a heart attack and waited for the sudden rush of pain. Instead, a very gentle sting as the stud gun clicked, it frightened me more than the shock of what I'd let myself in for! There was a slight warm sensation for a few minutes, and then nothing at all.
If you are thinking about it, don't be scared at all, it's well worth it! On a scale of 1 - 10, I'd say less than 1!
The only think I'll say is to get it done in a recognized shop or studio, checking for sterility and afterward clean round it with solution you should get, EVERY day, they'll probably tell you how to look after it. It is worth it! I love mine and I'm a guy!

Depends how high your tolerance level is and where you're getting the piercing. I've gotten my cartilage pierced and it just felt like a ***** slap to the ear.
When I got my earlobes pierced, it didn't hurt as much. It was so fast that I barely felt it.
However, I strongly recommend you get your ear pierced with a NEEDLE not a GUN. Needles are much more sterile, hurt less and have an awesome results. Guns have a chance of leaving bumps and scars which aren't too fun to deal with.
Although getting a piercing done with a needle is more expensive, it's definitely worth it.

okie there are a few factors that contribute to the amt of pain involved 1.... the exp. of the person using the gun (2...... the sensitivity of your ear lobes already (3 ...... the speed of the gun
but if you get someone experienced w/ a good gun it only hurts id say from wht i member about a 4 ... itll sting kinda like a fire ant bite ... or a mosquito bite for like 5 seconds then your ears get kinda hot and then you just feel fine.
im totally against piercing babys ears if this is why you are asking ...

Earlobe, I would probably say 2.
If you do the piercing yourself, it won't hurt at all.
I pierced my earlobe myself, and it didn't hurt at all. Although I must admit that it felt kinda wierd.
I don't want anyone to hurt themselves, so I won't post how to pierce your own ears, but if you want to.. consult google.
Good luck.

Really it is just heat and pressure maybe a little pinch it doesn't really hurt it sometime hurts when it is healing and you rake it with the hair brush! I have two tattoos and piercings are a walk in the park to that. Good luck.

It doesn't hurt at all. I would say 2/10. You will feel a pinch, but nothing that painful.

about an 8 It really hurts but then it is only for about 3 secs so it really isnt that long. It all depends on how good/bad your pain threshold is
