I do it many times as I also use phrases from movies. Sometimes, they have a stronger effect to make a clear statement. People react most of the times if they have some general knowledge and at the end, listen more carefully.

I always quote lyrics from songs, and I wait to see if my friends can guess what song it was from.

oh god yeah.
a few months ago, i went on a hiking trip with my school. we went hiking the first night, and the next morning we all woke up in PAIN. One of my friends goes "agh - my neck!" then i said "my back!" which prompted the rest of the room to holler out the bit that goes" lick my ***** and my crack!".
just lovely.
