I've always found Western Union the cheapest most reliable way of sending money.

the cheapest way is to use http://www.cashpassportcard.com/. it will allow you a 2nd card and you can give that 2 whoever it is that you are sending the money to. it will cost you £2.50 to withdraw funds, so u tell the other person to take out the whole amount and transfer it to their own bank. u get the usual conversion rates. i done a transfer the other day for 150 and was able to take 9600 baht at the other side. you have the added advantage that when you put money in. here in the uk. they are able to withdraw immediately from almost any ATM machine in thailand.
