He is a bit smug, yet his concern for the working class cannot be denied. The biggest bone I have to pick with him is that he complains and complains and offers no alternatives. To answer your question, yes, he has too much ego.

Lou Dobbs has had too much of an ego for 25 years. I'm surprised he can still get his head in the studio door.
