I have around 6 years of work experience in the corporate world. 4.5 as a database analyst and 2 as a systems analyst. Have a b.s. in ifsm. If I were to apply for a position as a HRIS analyst in a mid-size company, what starting salary should I ask for?

You didn't mention your degree which would be a major factor. I would say that assuming you have a degree and are currently employed, ask for no less than $60K.

This would depend on what your role would be, i.e., direct hire or contract employee. Contract employees can make more money as they are a direct charge to a contract. Direct hires can make a little less as they are charged to overhead.
