It's a great book...classic fantasy but with several unique twists. Eldest was just as exciting and I'm looking forward to the next book. The movie was a bit of a disappointment though...The actor that played Eragon just didn't seem to live up to the true character.

well these were good books. (claps for Chris, he was pretty young when Eragon came out!) I like the fantasy genre, so I found them to be enjoyable books. Still, these books will never be classics. They were well written, if not astounding, and they followed a very basic (but almost too predictable) epic fantasy plotline. I think Chris Paolini will be a better writer once he gets some more experience.
It's worth reading, but don't expect to have your life changed or anything.

I thought they were both great books with tons of unexpected twists! I loved the way the Alegaisia was so complex too! The only part I was dissapointed about was how eldest ended, but I assume it will patch itself up in the next book.

They are very well written and terrific pleasure reads. I usually hate books with dragons, swords, combat, etc., but this one was enjoyable. (The twist at the end of Eldest was great, don't you think?)

Standard Fantasy fare
Worth the read but not Earth shattering
Didn't do anything that hasn't already been done before.
I've read a lot worst..but also a lot better.
If you have a couple of hours to kill..go for it

I like it a lot. It's no Harry Potter but it's still pretty good. Although I hear the movie completely trashed it
