I think;

Brazil, when oil/gas start running out. People will have to turn to ethanol and Brazil is it's biggest producer. Solar Power is just not going to work and I'll be damned if i'm going to ride in a nuclear or hydrogen car.

United Arab Emirates is significantly growing now, and probably will for another 20 years or so, but once oil is out the way, then Dubai goes right down the drain.

China has already started to explode in the last 20 years more than any country ever did in history. It is likely to stay that way, due to it's GIANT population. Chinese is likely the language of the future.

Downhill countries

United states has been going downhill since the 1970's. In the 1960's no country's armed forces can even compare to us, now look at China's and a few other ones. More countries dislike us to some degree than 3 years ago.

Vietnam
Russia
Iraq
Iran
North Korea
Cuba
Libya
and wherever Bush goes there are violent protests.

We are also losing our distinctness, in 1950 few other cities had modern skyscrapers, look now, Cuba, and even Namibia has skyscrapers. We are losing our high rank of education. It is obvious this nation is being dumned down. Scientists can't even act right.

Another uphill country is Cuba, Fidel castro is likely to die off within a few years, so there is a great chance that a new leader open to trade and americanization will revolutionize Cuba, and it's close proximity with the U.S. won't hurt. Tourism will definately help.

The MAIN thing that will destroy the U.S. is OUTSOURCING. many major business are leaving the U.S. for cheaper labor. So this country is likely to see higher unemployment rates. that will lead to less money, which will lead for less money for education and inability to pay taxes and can lead to a deep recession, and potentially Depression.

I think it will be China because it growth rate per year is about 8%, to produce some products in there is very cheap, and the population will help it to. I don't see United Arab Emirates in the power even it's growth rate is double than the Chinese. I think if we elect a good leader next November 2008 the economy will grow and United States could be the most powerful nation in 35 years.
