My husband and I love the name Naomi, but it's I moan backwards, and everyone seems to know this! I could not bear my daughter being made fun of this way! My husband actually pronounces it N-eye-omi instead os N-ay-moi. We're considering spelling it Niomee. Our last name is Nelmark. Any suggestions?

Wow thank you so much for thinking this out, i can't tell you how many times i have seen kids being picked on for the spelling of their names.
How about Naomie or Niomie or even Niomee

Just pick another name, everyone will spell it Naomi anyhow, so you've achieved nothing accept having your daughter spell out her name for the rest of her life, and explain to people why it's spelt differently. )I personally have never heard anyone called Naomi, being teased for I moan...)
If you;re not sure there's plenty of other names...My husband likes Angelique, but I think kids will call her Angelique the Geek. So it's off our list.

I've seen Nayomi, Nyomi, Naomie, Naomee... i never noticed that it was I Moan spelt backwards but i can understand why you would want an alternate spelling. Of the ones that I listed I prefer Nayomi and Nyomi.

Just spell it the correct way. Naomi.

If you don't like what it says backwards, choose another different name.

If you take a normal name, then slaughter it, your daughter will be tortured her whole life, because nobody will know how to spell it or pronounce it right.

I think you should be careful about arbitrarily changing the spelling of a common name. One (common) variation I like, however, is Noemi. Most of the other ones suggested look like they will end up having your poor child teased. :-/
