A preganancy test only exists to detect the HCG hormone. Stress (or birth control) will not affect the result. Alot of stress may cause her to just miss her period altogether though. If her period is 20 days late and she tested today then it is highly unlikely that she is preg, it would've detected preg hormone at this point.

Stress can't cause the pregnancy test to come out negative, but it could cause her period to be late. It can actually cause you to miss periods entirely. Is she having any other symptoms of pregnancy, such as tender breasts, nausea, or bloating? It's been long enough that a pregnancy test should definitely detect her pregnancy, and she would have other symptoms. If her period still doesn't start, make an appointment with a doctor. The doctor can do a blood test to detect the exact amount of HCG (the hormone your body produces when you are pregnant) and tell you for sure. Also, the doctor can put her on birth control which will regulate her periods and keep you from ending up in this position again!

Stress can delay a period, but stress will not prevent a pregnancy test to come out negative if she is pregnant. She will still have HCG in her system which the test picks up no matter what

Stress would cause her period to be delayed or missed all together..I have taken pregnancy tests when i have been very very stressed and they still came out positive. If by now it shows up negative then shes most likely not pregnant,by now since she has already missed her period she would have gotten a positive..I have missed periods due to stress also....good luck!

no stress can not cause a test to be negative. Taking a test too early can cause a false negative though. I would tell her to take the test in the morning with her first bathroom break. Also, the test detect hcg levels so if she is prego her levels will be high and cause a positive. Stress can cause a menstrual cycle to be late though!!

There are other causes of no period besides not being pregnant. Eventually, every woman, no matter how well the plumbing goes like clockwork, will have an off period. Happens more frequently the older you get. If after a month you are still testing negative, then consider checking in with your doctor.

Stress will not alter the results of the test, but it can make her period late. Sometimes a batch of pregnancy tests will be defective, so if she doesn't get her period in the next few days maybe try a different brand of test.

Stress won't cause her to have a negative pregnancy test if she's pregnant. But stress can cause her to miss her period if she's not pregnant.
