1. Have a good anti virus software. Update the definitions and scan computer.
2. Get a free spyware/malware scanner (Lavasoft?Spybot). Update them and scan.
3. Start > run... msconfig. Go to last tab 'startup' enter each item into google search and decide if you want them starting up. Uncheck the ones you don't want.

its a very simple task. just follow some basic steps.
go to run and type regedit. now go to key HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/SYSTEM/TERMINAL/USER/DETAILS
there u will find a key name Version having 1.00 as data value. right click on that key and modify it to 3.00
