Okay, you have to buy the game (and seriously, dont buy the expansion unless you have a great deal or unless youreally wanna play as a Dranei/Bloodelf. Until you are level 58 or wish to play one of these races, the expansion is not that useful for you).
Once you purchase the game, you install it (obviously) and then you register it. By buying the game, you get a free month. Once the game is installed, you can log on, and create your first character. You will have to chose between types of server.
PvE is a relatively safe type of server where horde and alliance cannot attack each other UNLESS actions are taken that enabled such attacks.
PvP is an all out war. As soon as you are out of the safe areas (happens early, around level 20), anyone from the other faction can kill you, and they will.
RP servers are like PvE servers, HOWEVER, you are expected to be "in character." While most people tolerate some "out of character" moments, its a more serious type of gaming. THe most important impact is naming. While PVP and PVE servers have horrible names like "GnomKusher" you wont see that on RP.
RPVP servers are RP servers with an all out combat like PvP servers.
The next choice will be Race and Class. The races for the alliance are Human, Gnomes, Dwarves, Night Elves and Draneis*
Horde is: Orcs, Trolls, Forsaken, Tauren, and Blood Elf*
*are available with Burning Crusade only.
Different race have different class selections. Gnomes cannot be druids just like night elves are not warlocks.
The classes are:
Warrior: A melee class, somewhat complicated to play and hard to keep alive.
Rogue: The name says it all. Stealthy, and powerful, with good combat avoiding skills and some lifesavers like vanish.
Mage: Basic spellcaster. Its direct damage delt at some range, and with added utility like teleportation and food creation.
Warlock: A spellcaster that uses curses and damage over time spells. THey also have pets that can protect them or deal damage.
Hunters: They tame animal and specialise in ranged damage, while their pets cover the melee aspect.
Druids: They can change form and fill many rolls, like healer, spellcaster and melee fighter. The most versatile class of the game. Also one of the easiest to play due to the flexibility.
Paladins: Melee fighters supported by spellcasting abilities. Some can specialise in spell damage, but all paladins fight in melee range rather than stay in the back and heal/use spells. (alliance only unless you have burning crusade, blood elves can be paladins as well)
Shaman: Hybrid class. They have good melee skills, and are supported by the use of totems (small creations that deal damage/boost abilities/heal the group), some good instant spells, good healing abilities. They somewhat lost some power recently but are still a good option. (Horde only unless you have Burning Crusade, Draneis can be Shamans)
I also recommende you spend some time making your character look good. It may sound stupid, but 70 levels from now, you don't want to hate looking at that haircut.
Pick out a good name (not something you will regret having AND not something offensive or too stupid) and finalise your character.
And you are done.
EDIT
I forgot to mention, the different races have different racial abilities. While none are better than the other, some are more suited for a specific class. Canibalise is great for warlocks where as it may be less useful for a mage who can always have a supply of food.

I played couple of months but after all i got bored with this game. I guess its up to player itself. This game is not so creative, but world itself is huge. You can buy Cd at any computer games store across the country. Then you will install it on your computer and register online creating account. First month is for free, then you will start to pay for your game... I believe that also you can download game from the internet paying for it first. Check WoW homepage for more details.

call of accountability, with out question. first of all, COD spans onto 3 distinctive structures while WoW is in basic terms on computing device and permit's be undemanding, the PS3 and the Xbox 360 are the extra performed structures. Secondly, WoW's maximum modern strengthen (Cataclysm) offered approximately 3.3 million copies while COD's maximum modern interest (MW3) offered approximately 10 million copies. Even Black Ops offered 5.6 million copies which continues to be extra suitable than WoW's maximum modern strengthen. finally the FPS type is extra commonplace than the mmo/mmo type, amounting to a extra effectual hazard of persons taking part in COD. Edit: call of accountability has quite made approximately 7 billion money, extra suitable than doubling WoW's 2 billion. additionally, call of accountability has a pair of million-2 million on line at a time in keeping with interest. Which equals as much as approximately below 10 million people that's extra or must be equivalent to WoW's. Edit: you are able to no longer learn the standard of the video games because of the fact it quite is beside the point to the question and once you rag on one interest and compliment the different, it exhibits important bias making your answer unreliable. additionally you he's comparing WoW to the full CoD franchise. So confident WoW has offered extra suitable than MW3, yet has WoW offered extra suitable than the full CoD series or have as many lively gamers? certainly no longer.

If you want the CD's, get em at your local retailer and you get the first month free.
The other option is to download the 10-day trial from: https://signup.worldofwarcraft.com/trial/index.htm
Then, when your trial is up, it will ask you if you want to upgrade to the full version.
