The Egg - especially if you believe in Evolution. The bird hatched as a mutation of another species of animal. Therefore, the egg came first.
The bird didn't magically appear out of thin air, so it can't be the bird.

There were certainly eggs around before birds ever developed, but I assume you mean a bird egg (and don't mean to trick us with a trick question). It is important to understand that although humans like to assign strict categories to everything, it is not really easy to say when there was a "bird". At some point, there was not a bird. At some point there was a bird. Changes in creatures take long period of time, but at some point there would have been an egg laid by a "not bird" and inside the egg was something we would call a "bird". The best answer might be that the bird and the bird egg happened at the same time.
Some say this is a religious question, but few religious folks take the bible so literally. Those are stories expressing idea - not really suggestions that a supernatural entity created everything alive now all at once 6,000 to 10,000 years ago. Only hard core biblical literalists believe that.

The egg came first, if your a believer in evolution the bird was something else before it became a bird, so this creature laid an egg, right before it fully evolved into a bird, once the egg hatched, well there's your bird....there is much more to this but you should have a basic understanding now.

as species evolved through the years, one day an almost bird laid a new type of egg, with a bird inside. Since the bird was inside the egg, the egg and the bird came at the same time.

if you say the egg then who laid it or who conceive it.
if you say the bird then a bird of some form would have to lay it .
so I would have to say GOD was first and he created the Bird that laid the egg.
1.GOD 2. bird 3. egg

In nature, living things evolve through changes in their DNA. In an animal like a chicken, DNA from a male sperm cell and a female ovum meet and combine to form a zygote -- the first cell of a new baby chicken. This first cell divides innumerable times to form all of the cells of the complete animal. In any animal, every cell contains exactly the same DNA, and that DNA comes from the zygote.
Chickens evolved from non-chickens through small changes caused by the mixing of male and female DNA or by mutations to the DNA that produced the zygote. These changes and mutations only have an effect at the point where a new zygote is created. That is, two non-chickens mated and the DNA in their new zygote contained the mutation(s) that produced the first true chicken. That one zygote cell divided to produce the first true chicken.
Prior to that first true chicken zygote, there were only non-chickens. The zygote cell is the only place where DNA mutations could produce a new animal, and the zygote cell is housed in the chicken's egg. So, the egg must have come first.
