It's just getting ridiculous. At my school people always have a cell glued to their ear, some even check voicemail during class. I've heard people talk about all kinds of things from arguments to sex. Is nothing private anymore? Even the cable guy was talking to his mom on his cell while he was at my house fixing my cable. Do people really think that we want to hear their conversations? It's one thing when people are at the store and call home to see if they should buy some milk, but it's another thing to have epic conversations where people have to listen (like on public transportation or even the bathroom! That creeps me out). Half the time I don't even know if someone's talking to me or if they have an earpiece in their ear and are talking on their phone. Anyway, this is my rant. Is anyone else as annoyed by this as I am?

It does effect me when I'm in class. In some of my larger 500 person lecture classes people sometimes have whispered conversations on their phones. That effects me because it's distracting and I can't hear the teacher.

OMG! Yes!! I thougt I was the only one that thought like that. Every single person I know owns a cell phone. I decided not to get one at all and most of my friends see it as an act of crazyness. But the truth is, it damages comunication more than it favors it. For example, my parents are divorced and its really hard for me to have quality conversations with my dad. I decided to take him to the beach for a weekend, and one beautiful night, when he finally decides to open up while we were walking down the beach... his cell phone rings and he spent the next hour speaking to some guy from his work. Im thankful someone understands my frustration!

It drives me nuts. I won't even use call waiting. If it's that darned important they'll call back. My daughter is so bad she'll use her cell phone to talk to her boyfriend who is in the same house. Her last bill was 35 pages long. And your right, private conversations should take place in private, not on a cell phone in a public place.

Your professors need to start kicking people out of class for using their phones. It's very rude and very distracting to those trying to learn something.

What do all these cell phone addicts think we did before cell phones were invented? We waited until we saw the person or had access to a phone. Nothing is that important that it can't wait.

Are you kidding me. I just don't understand why some people need to talk on the cell phone all day long. I mean come on. Do they really need to be constantly having a conversation with someone? If they are really that popular, ok fine. They can have their own 800 numbers. Otherwise these people are just a bunch of attention whores needing contant conversation and attention. They suck ;)

I see ur exact point. I just wanna yell at the person and break there godforesaken(Not godd*mn) callphone. If I was a teacher I would ask the Principle or the Dean to come into my own classroom and take all the phones to his office. Same thing goes for public places; if I arrive early just to be away from people and they sit next to me talking on their cell phones, I would firt kindly ask them to leave. If they ignore me, I raise my voice and tapp their shoulder to let them know i m there. If ignored a 2nd time, I will freak!!!

It's very annoying. I heard there are as many car accidents because of people talking on cell phones as drunk driving. It's especially annoying to me if I'm at a movie, in a meeting, etc. If you think you might have an emergency (sick relative, etc) you can put it on vibrate & leave the room. Otherwise, TURN IT OFF!!!!

I can't tell you how many times I've almost been sideswiped by some idiot on a cellphone! I wish I could afford a throwaway car so I could ram them into a wall and leave the scene, it would serve them right. I also hate the ones who talk extremely loud so everyone is forced to hear them, like they're so important. I want to walk over to them and backhand them.

i'm African American and that i do no longer communicate on my cellular telephone all day, yet as quickly as I see an unattractive guy that sounds like he's going to attitude me I grab my telephone and pretend to be talking just to keep away from him from coming over! perhaps, they are in basic terms no longer that into you and on sight they prefer to pretend to be pre-occupied till you're out of sight. I paintings in a great metro area and that i see very much of African American women and that they are actually not on their cellular telephones any further than the different team of persons. perhaps, they are undertaking employer, checking on their husbands or infants, or perhaps they do exactly no longer prefer to communicate to strangers. Many celebrities pretend to be on the telephone whilst they see irritating followers it extremely is a great thank you to maintain men from hitting on you and persons from asking you for money once you're in a hurry! AH, take it or go away it, even in spite of the shown fact that it is the fact!

Hmmm... If I could rid the world of people who talk on their cell all day, or rid the world of people who dislike things that don't effect them in ANYway, which would I get rid of? Gee, that's a toughy.

I am not nearly as annoyed as you are and for that I am glad. I would hate to get all upset about stuff like this, it would indicate an unfullfilled life to me!
