Just curious how often this happens. I have had issues that seem to not be able to be resolved through ebay and I feel my buyer scammed me. Let me know your experiences.

I've sold a few things on E-bay with no issues at all. I sold a yearbook from 1922 Westpoint Academy, a laptop, a GPS module for a PDA just to name a few.

My deals were Paypal or Postal Money Orders which I received before shipping my items. With the electronic items they were advertised on E-bay "AS-IS" with the laptop having an existing problem that was noted in the description. My buyers of the electronic items had no leg to stand on, especially when I paid for the shipping with delivery confirmation and insurance, so there was no way they could say it never arrived.

Hope your issue gets resolved!

I have had absolutely horrible experiences with buyers. I could say that 99 out of 100 buyers are a pleasure to deal with but what hurts most about the 1 percent who are not is the fact that, as a seller on eBay you have absolutely no recourse against deadbeat bidders and scammers. I have been selling $50k a month on eBay and just got burned for the last time. I am finished with them and their mafioso like arm pay pal.

I've sold over 10,000 items on Ebay and have had rare problems with buyers. Anytime you are selling to the general public, you can expect one every now and then.

Be painfully honest in your descriptions of items you are selling. That will preclude most problems you might have.

Charge reasonable shipping costs and your buyers will also be more reasonable upon receipt.

Just always remember that information about sending the item to Nigeria is a sign of scamming. Always report such incident to investigate on the buyer so you'll know if the buyer is a scammer. Come to think of it, it is a result of the account being hijacked.

I had one semi bad experience. An individual had bid on an auction (at the "buy now price" and tried to get me to give him my bank account numbers to transfer funds. The problem was he tied up my auction for a week and I had to relist. Ebay did not charge me for the relist, and had the offendor banned. Only problem I've had over about 5 years of selling items. I've bought and sold maybe 30 items.
