I go to JRP,and there as an IPOP audition. My siter and i auditioned, but only i made it. So they made an appointment to come talk about it. They told us it was $4600 just for me to go tothe Ipop convention in Las Vegas.( this is the total cost for airfair, transportation, training ect..)They also told us that i needed a parent to come with me, the price is $2200 for a parent to come.SO together it's like $6,800!My parents said yes so were going this july! So my question is has anyone ever been to an IPOP convention before? HOw was it like and is it a scam? They also said they bring top agents, casting directors, and mangers from hollywood.

Which location are you from? POrtland? My daughter was chosen for the same thing and I was wondering if it was a scam as well. They give you big names of actors and such that show up there but, they also said if we didn't have the money by June 1st then my daughter can go in Jan 08 or July 08. I am a little scepticle about the hole thing, but at the same time curious too. Like to know what else you have done with JRP's

I just put my son thru the IPOP program in Los Angeles and can therefore speak with authority on this matter. Its a wonderful event and in fact it delivered far more than was promised to us. We would highly recommend attending. The only thing that was promised to us was the chance of being exposed to talent agencies and managers. That's it. Nobody promised us that our son was going to be the next Disney star and it fact it was made very clear to us that this was NOT their role. They can get you to the door - but your son/daughter has to jump thru it and to do that, they need some talent. The thing is - how does an ordinary person get their talented son/daughter in front 200 plus talent agencies and managers in the one place?? If you know another way - then lets hear about it. My son was picked up by an agency and we have been out doing auditions - but we understand very clearly that there are NO guarantees of success. Part is luck - part is talent and a lot comes from persistence. If you cant play golf and go to a golf academy and come out the other end not winning the US Open - then blame your lack of talent - not the instructor. Sure its not cheap - but go take a look a the venue, the agents and managers attending and then I think you will agree that if you can afford it - its a great investment in your son/daughters career. My gut feeling is that the people who complain are the ones who have unrealistic expectations that their child is definitely going to be the next Disney star & when that doesn't happen -they get bitter and twisted. We had a great time at IPOP and I would strongly recommend it
