Unfortunately I do, sadly I know several people... I try to have the least amount of contact with them as possible. I've tried to be pleasant and cheery and talk about all the good things they have going on, but it doesn't seem to help. I find those people are usually depressed and would be best helped by finding a qualified counselor/therapist.

Incidentally, my uncle is a psychiatrist and I asked him about severing a friendship with someone based on me not being to take being around this person anymore. He said I shouldn't feel bad at all about doing that. I had done as much as I could and this person was in desparate need of therapy and only until they recognized that in themselves would things change.

Good luck with your situation.

God, yes!!! My husband!!! I really don't know how I have stood this for 40 years! Everything I do, he criticizes... every hobby I have...he criticizes...if I hadn't been on antidepressants for 25 years...! But, I have reached the point that I can no longer bear it! My antidepressants ARE NOT working anymore!

Oh my God yes, it's awful. They usually have no clue.
I really feel sorry for people like that b/c the just don't get how they make their own life so bad. I try to help redirect, but I have stopped the association if they continue as its lethal to be around them.

YES! The ironic thing is her name is Joy! I'm just happy I don't have to work with her anymore! Not only was she what you describe she would also make up rumors and be a tattle tale to the boss!

Yes,I know a couple that are broke all the time because they waste their money on junk, then make it so I can't be happy about anything because I have the sense to actually pay my bills and work.

I don't know them personally but I see tons of them moving in car columns - together - not happenstance. You can see them spouting poison. I treat it like, I look forward to a better future. You?! Are gonna DIE a mobile septic tank! ( That's how I deal with them. I never studied diplomacy. )

Yes a co-worker, she's not happy unless everyone else around her is unhappy. She makes work a living hell.
