That really depends on how hard the problem is, and if I have a calculator on hand.
If the problem is easy, I will just do it in my head. I have an innate ability to remember numbers and such.
If I don't have a calculator, and the problem is hard, I will do my best using the methods taught in elementary school.
If the problem is difficult and I do have a calculator, I will use it.
Sometimes I just don't feel like dragging out the calculator and do a little scratchwork in the margins of my paper.

I'm a pen and paper person. But, during important tests and stuff I use calculator.

10-key most of the time. Never a calculator. And in my checkbook I used the good old fashioned thing called a brain.

Mental math usually works for me, but I can do any calculator calculation by hand, unless it's advanced calculus, then I have to use my graphing calculator.

pen and paper if it's just simple arithmetic. if it's complicated, then i use the calculator.
