I'm an adult and as such have a variety of favorites for different reasons for each show. So I don't know if I'll help your school work but here goes: for Comedy it is a mix of -The Daily Show,Colbert Report, and Lucky Louie. As to Drama- Studio 60 for News- Countdown with Kieth Olbermann Politics-Real Time with Bill Maher or Meet the Press. Sports - any Football or Baseball and NCAA Basketball and for Sci-Fi - Dead Like Me , Eureka,&Twilight Zone. When I want to just get nostaglic I go with TV Land . So you see I have a Favorite for different Categories and each for it's own reason. Also this list can change at anytime if something really good comes along.

hmm there are so many the thing is most of my favorite TV shows get canceled whitch is really annoying. i recently watched Grey's anatomy and that was really kl here are some more of my faves
Dr who, sugar rush, Dead like me, battlstar galactica, firefly & lost there are more but people will get bored lol

my favorite show right now is heroes on nbc followed by desperate house wives ( was number 1 last season ), lost, uggly bety, americas next top model, the seech for the next doll and lastly greys anatomy ( was number 2 last season).

Best thing EVER. (I'm watching it for the 6th time, saw Hush last night -- what an ep.)
Funny, I am SO TOTALLY NOT into horror.
