I'm an intended geography major. The only problem is I don't really know what kind of jobs a geography major can get. I'm interested in cartography and GIS. Thanks for your help!

Geography is an excellent major. You can go into fields such as city planning, logistics, things of that nature. The world is increasingly interconnected and this type of knowledge is more and more useful everyday. People who have knowledge of GIS software can create maps for gps services, GIS is the fastest growing sector of this field and also the highest paying.

I am currently a meteorology major at Penn State. I was thinking about transferring to the geography department. I'm taking some of the classes in the geography department and they are very interesting.

I don't really know too many jobs that are available but I know that some people in my dorm are geography majors. I'll try to find out from them some potential jobs for geography majors, but in the mean time you can probably contact the geography department at any major university

opposite to commonplace concept, majoring in geography isn't approximately discovering the place each and every united states of america and capital are. Therefor, map-making isn't the only selection. It extremely relies upon on what sort of geography you important in (environmental, human, GIS, and so on). job opportunities exist in GIS diagnosis, wooded area provider, coaching, water supplies, cartography, park ranger, city making plans, and logistics. A geography is customarily extra marketable than different "comfortable" sciences like pysch, anthro, and poli sci the place a great gamble of a occupation at as quickly as with regards to the more suitable isn't likely.
