My nephew is 9 months old and still taking two naps a day. My girls cut the second nap out at around 13-14 months old.

I take my daughter to classes in the morning so she's really exhausted by 10am. She would have a nap then and then again later around 3 or 4. She is now 17 months old and I just started her on one nap because of the class time changing. While two naps worked fine before, the one nap works just as well now that she's a little older. While she does still get crabby come around 12pm, she does better because she tends to take really long naps (3 hours +) I think it depends on when you need it more. If she is doing fine on 2 naps, stick with that. If she isn't sleeping but just playing in her crib (which mine started doing) switch to 1 nap. It was a perfect age for my daughter. Hopefully this helps you.

My son is 20 months old and is just going to 1 nap a day. It was long process for us, he wanted to take a nap at 10 am still and I needed to find new ways to keep him up or he would fall asleep on the floor. Obviously, he wasn't ready. You;ll start to notice them going longer in the am before they need to go down for a nap. Thats a good indicator. Good luck.

I don't believe that there is a specific age when you should limit your child to 1 nap day. Every child is different and naps should work with your family's schedule. If your baby isn't going down at night until very late, you should try to wean him off the second nap.

there is no right number of naps for a infant. If they are sleepy , they need to sleep. I dont know where you heard that you need to cut down naps at all.

By 12 months all 3 of my boys were down to one nap a day; their own doing.

When your baby tells you to. The old routine will no longer work. It will be harder to get baby to go to sleep for the a.m. nap, and then it'll snowball and be harder for the second nap later because he doesnt need so much sleep anymore. At that point you stop putting him down in the a.m. and try moving the p.m. nap up a little earlier.

My daughter takes 2 naps and is 14 months old.

Just take cues from your infant. They will let you know when they are ready.
