Overall, old skool to like '98 hip hop.

That's a hard one, though. I really like both. I listened to both about the same back in the day. But, comparing the hip hop with reggae today, I would say reggae.

Hip hop today is just so terrible and commercial. Just about making money, not writing what they're actually "feeling". You can tell when a song is created from the soul, and what's just "created".

What's wrong with liking both? Reggae's got the summer vibe, Hip Hop artists tell real life stories or shake parties. Neither would still be here without the other. Fiddy and all that other new stuff ain't Hip Hop, it's just a money making scheme for greedy record companies, like X-Factor and Fame Academy. I mean, do we really need the charts clogging up with more mediocre pop music Mr Quinn? So it's Bob Marley and De La Soul for me!

Reggae. Hip Hop cannot even be compared to Bob Marleys music or message.

This is hard for me to answer cause there is good
in both genrees

Reggae- Marley and his sons, Lee "scratch" Perry, Black Uhuru, Burning Spear, the abyssinians, etc.
and then you got the dancehall reggae which I can't stand.(shaggy, sean paul, beenie man, patra, wayne wonder)
I like roots reggae.

Hip-Hop- Man the classics...Run DMC, The Beastie Boys,Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five, Herbie Hancock, Dougy Fresh, Biz Markie

So when it comes to deciding between those two... man, I just can't...

Reggae. I loved Bob Marley, and I love his son Ziggy. I've seen Ziggy Marley with the Wailers live twice, and it was an awesome show.
