I was just wondering why gay men seem to have to act just like girls. I mean they dress like them, talk like them, and even walk like them. I'm totally gay, and I really like guys. Why would I want to be with a girl, or a guy that acts like a girl? I was wondering straight guys, gay guys, lesbians, straight girls, anyone, do have an answer to this. Or have you ever wondered yourself.

Here's the thing we learned from a neurology course...
Men and women have very different brain structures and physiology. For example, women have a much bigger and more intricate corpus callosum than men do. However gay men have brains that are distinctly shaped like a woman's (bigger corpus callosum) and lesbians have brains that are distinctly those of a man.
So a gay man is literally a woman's brain in a man's body. That is why they are typically so feminine and why lesbians (conversely) tend to be more masculine. Also subconscious non-verbal behaviors reflect this, as gay men tend to walk and use smaller, "limp wristed" gestures like women.
I think much of your problem is derived from sexual desire being evoked through sexual polarity. A feminine essence seeks a masculine, and vice versa. The problem can arise where you have a feminine essence but most other gays also have feminine essences, which can hinder attraction. Sounds like you need to find a gay man with a more masculine essence - it happens (there are straight women with masculine essences) but it's less common.
I hope this has been at all helpful or informative.

You are a gay man and you don't know the answer to this? You don't have to "act" like anything you are not. Most gay men in my circle of friends are very masculine leather men, they would not know what you are talking about. If you took a good look at women, you would see that effeminate men (either homosexual or heterosexual) do not act like women at all. Heterosexual transvestites or crossdressers(and the majority are heterosexual not homosexual), emulate an exaggerated female that is not based on actual fact but their perceptions of the female through the male experience.
I think you need to grow up alittle and expand your very narrow view of the world we live in.

not all gay men act like this, not every homo walking down the street is flaming, I've met several men who turned out to be gay and I wouldn't have known otherwise unless they told me. For those who do, maybe they are just more comfortable acting more feminie because that is just how they think and feel withouth making wanting to make the physical transition.

Not all gay men do. Usually the media shows those gay men who act like more femine. I'm bi but I think of myself more of a man than a woman.

You hit the nail right on the head. I feel exactly the same. Only, not all gays are like that. A lot of them are, yes, but the dudes I go out with, you'd never know they were gay. So they are out there; your just seeing the obvious and flamboyant ones. Sterotyping, ya know?

It's in the "gay male rules" rule book, rule number 69: if you want to be a gay man, you have to act like a girl. Can you say: stereotype?

They don't all do that. Gay men who are "out" often communicate their gayness with body language but not always.
