Wow. I totally understand how you feel. I have gained 23 lbs and I'm 25 weeks along and I have gained so much more weight than most women. I feel good and I look good, but then I"ll read "by 25 weeks you should have gained 9 pounds" or something and I feel so depressed! I think you should definitely try some moderate exercise - it's great for you and the baby. Don't worry about losing a little weight, I doubt you will it will probably just slow down your weight gain. I wish you luck! In my 1st pregnancy I gained 50 lbs. I think this one it will be 40 lbs. oh well!

Dont worrie about loosing weight , Cause you will probably just be burning off Calories. As long as you eat Healthy , an keep up the walking you will be Fine !
An if ya dont wanna walk all the time , Check with the Community Center in your area , Most offer Wonderful Water Aerobics for Pregnant women. I did that both times i was pregnant , It was great !

You shouldnt try to lose weight while pregnant. Just monitor what you eat especially anything with sodium in it. Walking is very good while pregnant. as long as you are not power walking you should be fine.. All bodies react differently to pregnancy. I am a mom to five and each time my pregnancy and weight gain was different. Just eat healthy and do some exercise such as walking or there are fitness classes for pregnant women too. The main thing is to remember that the most important thing is delivering a healthy baby.

I do believe, that walking should be fine, in moderation... And yes, It is possible to lose weight while you are pregnant (though I don't think it's advised, unless you are severely overweight) but a couple pounds here & there, Shouldn't be an issue, I only gained 5lbs with my last two pregnancies, and the Doctors never said a word. :]
As for other benefits of walking, When you're a little further along (36 weeks + ) walking will help 'get you ready' for labor, and in fact, can actually bring labor on. :]
good luck w/your new little one!!!! && enjoy being pregnant while it lasts, You'll miss it!!!

I gained 50 pounds with my son.
Now here's what I don't get...an overweight person is not supposed to gain more than 15 pounds while pregnant. The baby, placenta, and everything weigh more than 15 pounds. Yet you're not supposed to lose weight.
That weight has to go somewhere!
Keep walking. It's good for you, and exercise may help make labor easier.

Well you should definitely not be trying to lose weight while pregnant but walking is very good while you are prego. I gained 60 pounds during my pregnancy. Walking helps to keep your muscles in shape while you are pregnant and makes it so much easier to lose the weight once you give birth. I walked every evening with my son after he was born and it took a while but I am back to my pre-pregnant shape. Oh and breast feeding helped a lot too. Good Luck!

If you have a lot of water retention, you can lose weight from losing the water. That is perfectly safe. But you need to watch the weight gain for now, you don't want to end up gaining 60 pound by the end! As far as walking, have at it. It's great exercise and it helps with labor.

With my first child I had gained 60 lbs. I was 102 pre pregnancy and weighed 162 at his birth. He was 3 weeks premature. I ended up being put on bed rest because I had toxemia (high blood pressure). I gained alot of weight because I was extremely unhealthy and underweight to begin with and it was my first pregnancy and I was 15 years old. Walking while you are pregnant keeps you in shape and healthy. It is very good to walk while you are pregnant because it keeps you active, which keeps your muscles going strong, which makes labor alot easier and recovery a whole lot faster. I doubt you would lose pounds by walking while pregnant. It might slow you down from gaining weight but I definatly recommend walking!

You should not loose weight when pregnant.
You can walk and exercise to help stay fit and slow down your weight gain. Now you should be gaining one pound/week.
In addition to helping you control your weight, walking will make you stronger and increase your endurance, which will help with labor.
When you are exercising you need to keep your heart-rate in a safe range for your baby. A good rule of thumb, is that you should be able to talk while exercising.
p.s. if you breastfeed your baby, the weight will drop off of you!

If you happened to be walking, and happened to lose a few pounds, there is really no way to know for sure if the 2 are related.
Walking is good to keep the blood circulating.
Water retention could be a sign of preeclampsia.
No, I only gained about 5 pounds during the first 8 months, but during the 9th month I gained 50 due to preeclampsia water weight.
I wish I would have walked more during my last pregnancy.
