When I play videos on "websites" such as youtube or myspace etc., they run choppy. When I play any videos on windows media player, they run "perfectly fine". Can someone help me?

Its because the person that uploaded the video on either of those sites made their video with poor quality...If you mean it stops and plays here and there then it might be your internet speed...so you might need to pause the video and let it load first...

WMP does streaming, but there's a chance you're comparing streaming (youtube & myspace) to video formats that download completely (some wmp and avis). If so, this sounds like a bandwidth issue or (in a rare combination of things) your PC can't keep up to the task.

You can temporarily work around this if you use a website that lets you download the entire video from youtube. Dunno if an equivalent works on myspace.

Once downloaded, your video will either will play fine (pointing toward a bandwidth problem) or it'll still flake out (in which case you've got codec problems... have a techie friend download a codec-detecting tool called g-spot and work with you to figure out which video type is to blame) See if your video card and PC's processor/memory are low enough to be straining under the load of both network and video demands.

If the problem changes with the time of day, your ISP might be overallocating users to the available bandwidth.

Compare notes with friends. Try exactly the same thing on other machines or other network connections to see if it is your PC or the 'net causing your problems.

it could be your internet connection ... if you have earthlink for your ISP you should change your acceleration lvl to low so you get the best picture / music / video quality ... other than that i dunno
