Yeah I'm not a fan of the pop stuff that a lot of people like today. If you ask me, The Eagles, Boston, The Doobie Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Led Zeppelin are the greatest bands of all time. Kansas is pretty good, too, and I listen to AC/DC occassionally. The only newer band that is good is The Killers...they have some really awesome stuff. If you haven't listened to them you should...you might like them. The Flaming Lips have some decent stuff too, as do Nickelback and Fuel. Hope this helps.

AMEN to that! I totally agree with you. What ever happened to melodies and choruses and songs that became classics and decade defining. There simply is nothing (in the mainstream rubbish) today that holds anything to any of these songs below:
Erasure - A Little Respect
Mister Mister - Kyrie
Madonna - Open Your Heart
Dire Straits - Money For Nothing
Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer
The Cure - Pictures Of You
Pet Shop Boys - West End Girls
Michael Sembelo - Maniac
Madonna - Papa Don't Preach
Today's "music" is all about having the most egregious attitude and being as obnoxious and money grabbing as possible - its vile, corporate crap. Bring back day glow laces and mullets - that's what I say!!!

Some stations still play the 80's music.
The music today does not sound as good as the 60's, 70's or 80's.
I cant seem to understand the words.

I keep listening to older music. I'm only in my 20's but a lot of the older stuff is good.
Some 70's/80's stuff is pretty good. Even some of the stuff my dad listened too is better then some of the rubbish we get today.

Uh, if you love 80s music so much just listen to it...Frankly, a lot of that stuff was downright cheesy. Besides, there's a whole world of music that's underground that you're probably missing out on because of you dont make the effort to seek it.

The only thing I miss about the 80s music is that you could actually create a fun song that isn't serious, political, sexual, violent, etc.

Absolutely! Although the 80s were a little tacky, everything was so unique and experimental. Most music now is generic, boring, and overdone.
