I would like to know how extensive the training is, the pros & cons from your personal experience.
It would be even better to hear from people who've worked as an agent in Atlanta.

Thanks!

If the agency that hires you only has you in training for 2-3 weeks then that is a terrible agency to work for. Training to be a 911 Telecommunicator is upwards of 12-18 weeks.

The profession can be very stressful due to the activity levels in the 911 center. You may work on rotating shifts with changing hours and frequent forced overtime. You will also work weekends and holidays.

But the job is always different and rarely routine. You get the satisfaction of helping alot of people.

I would suggest you request to do a sit-a-long with Atlanta and make sure it is something you CAN and WANT to do.

The training is 2-3 weeks. The hours are long, you will probably start 3rd shift for at least 6 months, and it becomes annoying in about three weeks. My ex did it and hated it!
