I think that's lovely idea, but make sure he really wants one. Maybe he just likes teasing you about you not liking rabbits and doesn't want one as much as he says he does.

If he made an excuse to not get one then he probably has his reasons. Rather than running out and getting a living animal which may then not fit into your lifestyle simply to get back at your boyfriend for using you as an excuse, why don't you have a discussion about the possibility of getting one with him. Then you can make a more rational decision about whether this addition to your home is a good idea.

No. We had 2 rabbits. And we got rid of them. Then they got rid of them. They are messy and yes you can litter train them. But they still poop everywhere. Plus females get aggressive when they are sexually mature and males spray like male cats. And the cost alone to spay and neuter them is insane. I called vet offices and it ranged from $80 to $250. I live near Cincinnati and called all over the place. I mean rabbits are cute, but if you get one I would make it an out door pet unless it is too hot or cold outside, then bring it in.

I think its a good idea but dont get one from a pet store... they usually dont know what they are selling you and will give false info. I have been breeding rabbits for 12 yrs and I like to quiz petstores secretly when i go in. Youd be surprised what they tell you to get you to get one...
And I am not sure where you live but if it is used to being inside, and you want it to live outside or in the garage, you are going to have to wait until it is 40 degrees day and night steady or your rabbit might get sick.
You might want to wait until the summer fairs and get one from a fair from a reputable breeder....

If I could give 10 thumbs up to one person at a time they would ALL go to SC!!!!!
PLEASE........NEVER get a pet unless you are both ready to have one. Blaming you for not getting one is sure proof that he 'wants" but is not "ready" to own a rabbit.
PLEASE...do thorough research on rabbit owning BEFORE you go out and buy one. Rabbits may be great pets but not for everyone.

Sure get him one he'll love watching it sit there and do nothing and try to bite him if he tries to touch it. Let's not forget that sweet smell of rabbit dung. OH YEAH. I would get him one.
