I have 2 hard drives on my laptop, if i make a clean installation from windows xp to windows vista and save my drivers on the d drive before the instaltion....will it still be there if i install the windows vista on my c drive?

IF you want to switch from windows XP to windows Vista first boot your hard disk in two parts out of which one will cantain your XP and install Vista into the other and then when it is installed, copy all yours folders and files from your XP drive to Vista and later on you can remove XP from your laptop. I too have done the same but instead of Vista and XP I have installed Unix systems and Windows in my laptop.

U can choose Windows Vista install at C drive.
Then ur backup file at D drive will not delete.

Well it depends on the installation you make, if you an upgrade you will change the winxp to vista but u won't loose your documents, but if you make a new copy and delete the partition maybe you will loose your data, so it's better to comp your data on an other computer first

You won't lose anything if you use the Upgrade option. And Vista allows you to back up your data to CD or DVD so you should take advantage of that.

Hi. Backup, backup, backup first. I lost some documents when Vista Beta installed on my slave drive. Did I mention backup?
