unfortunately I'm not very knowledgeable about many band names or what I should check out. Nothing recent please. Tell me about the stuff from the 60's and 70's or even earlier. Thanks!!!

The Clash is my favorite band. I konw all about Sublime and No Doubt I just wanna know about the old sh*t. The first wave.

2 Tone Records is the starting point you want for the Ska revival of the late Seventies Eighties.

I would check out The Clash. They are considered one of the first to mesh reggae and punk. It's a different kind of sound from today's ska or the ska from the 60's, but it's great. You should also check out the song "Punky Reggae Party" by Bob Marley, from the mid-seventies.

Have you heard of Toots & the Maytals? They're an awesome group from the 60's.

Start with the Skalalites, The Specials, The Selecter, The Toasters & Desmond Dekker.

Also look for artist on the Trojan or 2-Tone labels.

So you like music that you don't know anything about? Oh. I see. They aren't really recent: Sublime. And No Doubt is ska. Good luck finding out the info.
