What should America do to prevent current and future genocides (Darfur)? What is our role, if we have one? Please back your argument up with a coherent argument. Most informitive wins!!

America should review its current "most favored nations trading agreements and give that status to those countries who actively support democratic ideals and the protection of minorities and individuals.
America should then use its influence in the UN to aggressively push for reform and ACTION toward genocide anywhere in the world.

It's a funny thing, people are always saying the US is always sticking there nose in where it doesn't belong. My question is why can't other African nations help out. Why can't other countries take a lead in this, why should it always be America. Like I have said before we are damned if we do damned if we don't. Sick and tired of trying to help other countries just to get stabbed in the back later down the road.
