I keep hearing that blacks are supposedly more racist than whites. The definition of racism, as most should know, is believing that one's race is superior to all others. Blacks are NOT more racist than whites. We may be more PREJUDICED and DISTRUSTFUL of whites, but not racist. That has, and always will be in this lifetime, a monolopy of whites.

Please give examples if you disagree and I will gladly recant my statement if you can show me instances where most blacks are racist. And please stick to the definition of racism.

Racism - The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others

Prejudice - An adverse judgment or opinion formed beforehand or without knowledge or examination of the facts. b. A preconceived preference or idea.

Distrust - Lack of trust or confidence.

Blacks are prejudiced and distrustful of whites because of history. And noooo, not just slavery. Jim Crow will do just fine.

Sherrip-Ive seen your previous answers so I don't really respect anything you have to say. You are one of the people of which I speak. You are a hateful racist woman and nothing I do or say will change that so I'm not even going to attempt. I didn't say I personally don't trust. I am married to a white man and have many white friends. I am merely pointing out a consistent mistake that you and others like you have made by stating that blacks are more "racist" than whites. By definition, this is incorrect. BTW-Your answer is hypocritical coming from you. I, above all, distrust you the most by your showcase of your hatred and bias. Good day.

BTW-For the record, i'm married to a white man so please don't get me wrong here. I am only making a distiction between the use of two words.

SherriP-Interesting fan list. PrussianBlue really took the cake. Robert Shelton? Wow. And you had the audacity to come on here and attempt to question blacks distrust? How wierd.

SherriP-You are my example. You are a prime example of why blacks are distrustful of whites. I don't need anymore examples. Just look at your previous answers. Yea, you sound like a really trustworthy person for blacks. Look, it's no point arguing. I'm black and you're a hateful racist. Nothing we could ever agree on here. Like I said, I was pointing out the misuse in words. If you don't get that, i'm sorry.

It's very difficult for a black person in america to claim superiority over whites or anyother race. The white people who claim blacks are just as racist don't have the daily encounters with racism (meaning someone exercising superiority over them because of race) when dealing with employers, teachers, law enforcement, etc. I mean what white person can honestly say that they have to think about their race when they walk out of the house each day? As a black man in america, whether you like or not, society constantly reminds you WHO you are and even warns you to stay in your place. Jim crow was 40yrs ago, not very long at all, I mean ALL of our parents lived through it, it was only ONE generation away. Where did all that hate and anger go? Did it just disappear? Some whites will have us believe it has been completely reversed in 40 short yrs. Now the blacks are just as racist and they are victims. I'm not a victim of jim crow, but I have been a victim of police brutality more than once, and each time it reminded me of jim crow, that's just common sense and reasoning. Whites are not immune to being victimized, but in america, they certainly have been the LEAST victimized.

Well it is IGNORANCE. I am white and date mainly outside of my race, by the way. I also have been through a lot of cultural, ethnic, sensitivity, and racial education. I think the main thing is that prejudice is a feeling or thought. Then it goes to discrimination with not hiring someone or offering help to a customer because of race. Racism is a superiority thing. The Skinheads are truly racist bc they are a white supremacist group. I bet Sherri belongs to them. I will admit that there is a sense of distrust from minorities depending on the person's education, experiences, values and other things. Another factor is the person whom you are distrusting of (basically what is the white person like?) I distrust rednecks and white people who are very snobby and close minded. To me, I distrust the Dukes of Hazzard type of crew and Wall Street/GQ/preppy types more than the down to earth white person.

First off, I think that the mix up of the word is for a political reason. But from what I seen it's reverse.. among black rap artist ect. racism from white people to black people is a real issue... but I agree with you that it isn't racism it's prejudice. I really don't think that there is a real movement among the white community to claim supremecy over blacks.
This movement to still show that racism is an issue from white to black is a political movement to convince the black community that they are still victims, from slavery until now black people are victims of the cruel rich white man, and society owes them.
This is were I think that word really has changed definition. I think the application of the new defintion of that word came later when it was applied from white to black people, also I think as a political movement, not as much, but at least a little.

I think you make a valid distinction. I think more "whites" feel that they are superior to others than do "blacks." My personal experience (being a WM married to a BF) has been vastly more prejudice from the "black" community than from the "white" community.

And how old are you? Certainly not 150 years old, you are a racist. What dont you trust about white people??? If you have a bank account you trust them to keep your money, if you dine out, you trust them to fix your food, if you drive/walk down the road in a car, you trust that they arent going to run you over etc, so give me some .examples for the reason that you dont trust white people or people of any other race?

history is gone... no I am not sore at you... but why rant and rave about something that might not have happened to you ( not knowing your age it could've but I doubt) And yes that was bad but why blame all of one group... isn't that the same?
