If you are talking about cracking noises because you are pushing hard on plastic, then don't do that.
If it's happening when you place your hand there as you type, it could be the case has cracked and it's causing something to move against an internal fan, or worse, shorting something out.
I have seen top covers crack and cause shorting on the LCD wiring, I have seen main cases cracked and cause components to shift as they are no longer held secure. In that case, you will probably need to have the cover replaced.
You may want to take it to a technician before something worse happens and you lose all your data.
