But she personally owns some of it. As well as Queen she is the Duchess of Lancaster and both Jobs come with some more land. This she gave to the government for the duration of her reign as the Crown estates. Most of her recent predecssors did the same.
Her heir (Charles, Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay) for the time he is over 21 years until he becomes King has the revenues of the Duchy of Cornwall, set up by Edward I for his son, which owns various parts of the country. However the duchy owns it and not Charles. When he becomes King, William will automatically become Duke of Cornwall and take over the estate.

No, but she is one of the country's biggest landowners (along with the Church of England, Trinity College, Cambridge, and the Ministry of Defence) and the Crown Estate Office (whose offices are sometimes open to the public) manages it on her behalf. A two hundred year old department store closed last year as the Crown Estate Office was seeking to increase their rent on Regent St about twelve-fold. The duke owns much of Mayfair and Belgravia outright. He and other landowners are not subletting from the Queen.

Facts don't seem to be very important to fundies when it comes to the buy-bull, so there is no reason to think that even knowing the correct translation will not make a difference. Which also is the reason why Mary is still claimed to be a virgin, and homosexuality is still considered to be a sin. A claim that is often made is concerning Isaiah 7:14. In the Book of Isaiah in the Old Testament of the Bible it states: Therefore, the Lord himself will give you a sign, behold a young woman (almah) will conceive and bear a child and shall call his name Immanuel." It is claimed that the above was a prophecy about the birth of Jesus to the Virgin Mary. It is further claimed that since the word Immanuel means "God with us," the person being talked about, i.e. Jesus was God. The above quotation is from the King James Version of the Bible. The word translated as "virgin" is the wrong translation of the Hebrew word ALMAH. The word ALMAH in Hebrew means "young woman." The correct Hebrew word for virgin is BETHULAH. Since many young women begot children since those words were penned, it is not at all necessary that those words should apply to Jesus.

This used to be the case where the Royal Family owned the country and the Nobility were granted lands and the peasants worked the land and rented it with the labour

This was the ancient system, when everybody had a feudal lord to whom he owed various forms of tribute. Now if you own a freehold, you don't have a landlord as such. However, if you occupy your property under a lease (which is nearly always the case with apartments) you hold it under a landlord and will always have to pay him a certain sum by way of rent.
However, the Crown does own vast tracts of land and the Queen owns certain properties in her own right.

no, she doesn't own it. as i understand it, she's kind of just part of the government like everyone else in their parliment... only a much stronger influence than most.
