Since you're left handed, as I am also, you're going to want to keep more of an eye on the ball than a right handed batter would because the pitch will be more different and unpredictable.

Form an "L" with your right arm and make sure the bat is above your left shoulder. Don't stick your left elbow up, keep it close to your stomach and keep it jelly-like. Relax your left arm.

When you swing, pretend your testing an ice rink. Get into a wide stance, and without moving the rest of your body, slightly raise your right leg up and "tap the ice lightly." Foward your momentum.

When you swing, your right elbow should go into drive FIRST. As you are watching the ball hit your bat (PROBABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT THING MENTIONED. ALWAYS WATCH THE BALL HIT THE BAT OR YOU WILL MOST LIKELY NOT HIT IT), and you time your quick and choppy swing, rotate your lower body so that your toes point toward the pitchers mound, and the bat should end far over your right shoulder and you drop the bat and run, obviously.

I just made the varsity team and my these batting tips are from my coach. Good luck, as you are left handed batter, it's a little bit more challenging.

Wait on the ball and have a short compact swing that is level

Use your hips to snap throught the ball, don't snap too soon tho bc i was doin that and u loose a lot of speed. wen the pitcher releases the ball start your swing, but don't do it too soon and that varies from pitcher to pitcher due to their speed. hope that helps a lil bit.

Go to the batting cages. Find a good stance that works for you. I had the same problem
