Have him sleep a little inclined on his pillows (just under his sholders) this will stop the tissues obstructing the airway and vibrating against each other these can be the soft palate, the throat, the uvula, the tonsils, or the adenoids.

First off, does he stop breathing some of the time? If so, that's apnea, and requires medical attention (generally covered by insurance too).
If not, try the following, in order:
IF he doesn't snore on his stomach, get some pyjamas with a tennis ball sewn into the back. Apparently that works.
Try the breathe right strips. They may help if its nasal passage related snoring - which is less common, but hey, they're cheap, so try it.
Try an aveo TSD. This can help if its tongue-at-back-of-throat snoring, which is more common. Apparently these work as well as most custom made mouth appliances, but are much cheaper. You're looking at maybe 100 USD online. I own one, it does not eliminate my snoring, but (my wife tells me!) makes a significant change.
Additionally, if your partner loses weight if he's overweight, it MAY help. Hey, it'll help other parts of life anyway. Just one more reason for him to get in shape.
He has no idea when he snores, and I doubt his mom sleeps in bed with him often. You are the expert in his snoring.

It might be a health issue. He could either see a doctor to discard any complicated illness or go to a drug store.. there are some band strips to put on the bridge of the nose to relief that problem, they also have some kind of spray.
If that doesn't help then sorry to say this but you'll have to get use to the snoring.

I have a Deviated Septum and Snore like a freight train. I have had Surgery for it and it did not help. I am sure your husband probably has upper respiratory problems that cause the snoring, and he just Can NOT help it. Don't be too rough on him. My poor Fiance puts up with it every night and he will just roll me over on my Left side. He says I do not snore when I am on that side. I know its hard on someone when they are trying to sleep. Buy you some Ear Plugs, or try sleeping with a fan going. They both help drown out the noise.

My husband snores very badly. Earplugs and sleeping pills work great for me as a short-term solution for when we are forced to sleep together in the same room (like in the hotel), but at home we sleep in separate bedrooms.
Have your husband see a doctor - he might have sleep apnea. My husband was told he didn't have it, and that his snoring was due to him being overweight.

He should probably see a doctor to find out the source of his snoring. You could also try turning him on his stomach. I hold my boyfriend's nose to see if he'll start breathing through his mouth but it usually just makes him wake up all startled (It's good for a laugh though).

This could be serious, and his snoring could be a signal of a much more life threatening situation!
He could have sleep apnea, which makes him more prone to heart attacks and sleep deprivation.
Get him into see his health practitioner, be encouraging and patient.
Is he moderately or more overweight?
There are a number of options which his doctor can help you with.

You should try those breath right strips. It may help. Sometimes weight has a lot to do with it. I started snoring at one point not something I want to share but...... I had my tonsils and adenoids taken out and it Quit just as fast as it started. Good Luck!!!

Just kill him while he's sleeping. Get it over with. Just kidding. He can go to a sleep clinic and get a breathing machine called a CPAP. He won't make a sound after that.
Men also have a volume control mounted on the front about half way down. Usually found inside the underwear.
( I couldn't teach my wife that one.)
