I had an old 75 Nova and was poor as a church mouse.
Approx 6 months pregnant and on my way to pick up my husband ( at the time) from work. I had $2.00 in my pocket and ran out of gas in Fairview,NC (that is God's country in the mountains). 2 good old boys stopped and picked my pregnant but up and took me to the gas station. These guys filled up a 5 gallon gas can with their own $ and poured it in my car.
All I could do was cry- these guys followed me to the turn off to my husbands work just to make sure I got there.
I didn't forget to put in gas- I couldn't afford to put in gas and was just hoping I could get that car where I needed it to be.

i imagine that takes position to everybody a minimum of once. in case you run out of gasoline, you want to locate someone that could help you get more advantageous. Or call a tow truck or someone to come back rescue you. Worst element is to could walk to a gasoline station to get some gasoline, then walk again to the automobile. attempt this when and also you may under no circumstances do it again.

I ran out of gas once - I was using a rent-a-wreck and I had a full tank of gas when I started out but by the time I go about half way all the gas was gone and I was only going about 50 miles - the fuel line started leaking and about $30 of gas just flowed out of it - and then it started to rain.

My husband seriously does this. We went to a basketball game a few weeks ago and he was on nearly empty as we drove to get there. We were running late so we got held up in traffic and I kept thinking we were going to stall out right there on the expressway. As we left the arena, I was praying we would make it to the gas station 1/2 mile up the road. We made it, but I was so so nervous. As for me, I fill up with my tank reads half empty. I can't stand that stress!!

Yes, but I always carry a gallon in the trunk so it wasn't a problem. And not all gas gauges work is how you run out...
