since art is subjective, what makes you think someone else's opinion on what is "good" matters in the slightest? if you enjoy painting out there grab your stuff and go!!!

i think thats nice i would like to take a closer look . since i dont pretend to be an artist i would either say oh thats nice or somethink like that or not really comment on the painting at all . i have seen some of the so called great art paintings of flowers and trees and i think a 5 year old could do that.
i think only someone that can paint a pic so it looks so much like a photo you have to wonder if it is a photo is real skilled art.
so i say get the paint the brush and the funny artist hat and go out and have fun . paint whatever as long as you like
who knows maybe the angel who looks over you and the one who looks over the park will think this is great art .
as long as you enjoy it do it . more power to ya.

If its what you enjoy doing - does it really matter what someone else thinks? (Whether or not the painting is any good or if the girl is weird?) If you want to be good at it there are a lot of things you can do (take classes, study other painters, etc) but the best thing you can do is just paint.
What would I think if I saw you doing it? I'd admire you for even trying (I love art but have no art skills at all) and would want to encourage you in some fashion.

If you like to paint, it doesn't make you weird to want to do it in the park...the park seems like an excellent setting for this. Don't worry about what others think of you or your painting. Personally, I regardless if the painting was good or not I would just think that it was nice that the girl had a hobby and she found time to do it.

At least that person is trying and wanting to do what she loves. That does not make you weird even if your paintings aren't that good. Just so you know I have done that before and from personal expirence, it will make you seem more professional if you are trying to paint the more beautiful stuff, even if it sucks because it looks better than painting an ugly tree so no one can see you.

I'm answering this ONLY because your name is Mindy.
I would keep on walking and NOT say anything. Because everyone has the right to a little peace and quiet and privacy and relaxation. I don't feel the need to start up a conversation about ART.
So what if the painting doesn't look like the park. It could be a painting to express her emotions at the moment. Lots of deep blue and green for serenity. Lots of yellow and white and silver..for happiness. for example....
None of my biz' .

I think it's really cool that you have the confidence to go paint somewhere where everyone can see you! No big deal if it's not that good... keep practicing... and even if you don't have the talent to ever become a great painter it's still a lot of fun just to do for yourself.

No it does not make u weirdo. I would not know what to say if it was no good. I would probably lie to make them feel good. But my neighbor does it all the time. And he is good. I got a few from him last year. He was outside in the snow one day last month painting and he said it was to beautiful to pass up he had to paint it. I saw the finished product and man it was amazing.

Art is an expression of ones inner self & outlook on things. There is no wrong, nor right. It is an opinion on how you see things. All is beauty in art. That is what comes into my mind when I see art of any kind. I also would think of how comfortable & at peace you seem to be at the park.

Just do it. What difference does it make what people think? The only way you can improve is by painting often. I love to see artists painting outdoors. I wish I could do it.
