the content is the same just the cover thats different...the adult ones a lot more expenisve tho

I've had both, and as far as I can see it is only the more tasteful cover in the adult version, though I confess to preferring the artwork on the children's books.
When the series is finished it would be nice to see a complete re-edit of the story with all the back references taken out, and some of JKs more self-indulgent moments removed. Perhaps it could be produced in three volumes, with good quality paper and some inspiring illustrations.

The cover is different and certain words are different. It's done so that adults can read it in the bus without looking like they are reading a children's book.

the childrens edition has a cartoony picture on the cover with a three band colour scheme ;title of book in top band ,picture in middle band , and author and publisher in bottom
The adult version is usually single colour (black) with a picture deemed adult (the last one was of a parchment with a quill)nothing jazzy to catch the eye
