Download a program called Tuneup Utilities.
http://www.download.com/TuneUp-Utilities-2007/3000-2086_4-10629494.html?tag=lst-0-1
In that program is an option to "undelete" files. Unless you used some sort of secure file deletion method with a program such as CCleaner you should be able to restore the deleted files. There are other programs that do this if Tuneup Utilities doesn't work out. Just search Download.com
Hope this helps!

According to the web user magazine you can retrieve your recent deleted files from your recycle bin after it has been emptied...they say that you can expand the recycle bin and your files will be right at the bottom...sorry i don't know how you do it and i no longer have the magazine but you might be able to find out how by visiting their site...

Sorry to say, for the most part they are gone. You can try with recovery data software such as stomp softs recover lost data. That was good for getting some photo's back, but not so hot when it came to document type files. The program will cost you about 4 bucks and take about 3-5 hours to complete the scan on your computer.
In the future, start saving your data to a second source such as CD's, flash drive, external harddrives or online storage bases.

Always make backups, the golden rule for saving files. You could try system restore,if you have it. But deleted and lost files ,a bummer. Back up, Back up.

Restoration is a freeware program you can download from here:
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/restoration.html
This should locate your lost files and recover them providing file activity on the drive where they were stored has been kept to a minimum.

You can recover deleted photos videos document media audios and other files and folders from Windows computer hard drive, or files lost after desktop/laptop hard disk reformat.
This is because that deleting or formatting won't make file's data on computer hard drive erased permanently. These file's data are just not accessible and hence the files are not readable. If you have deleted important files on your computer hard drive, the files are not deleted, as a matter of fact, just that index entry, FAT, or NTFS file system marked the storage of files as free so that new data can use the space to save the files. If you did hard disk reformat, computer system rewrited the FAT table or NTFS table which manages all the file storage process.

Sorry, deleted _DOES_ mean deleted. Please take care next time, if you go to a specialist they MAY be able to help you recover some old files, but cost rates are very very steep and success rates are low.
