Gloria Swanson...not only was she a highly successful and hugely popular Silent Screen actress she also played Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard one of the best Film Noir movies ever made about the Silent Film Era almost twenty years after talking pictures were introduced.....At the peak of her career she received over 10,000 fan mail letters in just one week.....She was the female Rudolph Valentino to millions!!
