Dont take Santana!!! Its a waste of a pick. Take either Jose Reyes or Alfonso Soriano. Both are pretty good all around players. They will both have good seasons because they are in good lineups. And neither of them are injury prone so they are safe picks. On comeback 22 and 27 look for maybe jeter if he is still left. If he isnt either a SS if you didnt get reyes(Hanley Ramirez or Michael Young) or one of the following: Joe Mauer, Aramis Ramirez, Derek Lee, Carlos Lee, and maybe Jason Bay if he is still there. Hope this helps

Santana is an over-rated choice. He is without question the #1 starter in all of baseball, but there are so many SP's coming off injury/down years/unknowns that could keep pace with Santana's #s this season.. Skip Santana and draft the following:

Daisuke Matsuzaka
Rich Harden
Roy Halladay
Jonathan Papelbon
John Patterson
Felix Hernandez
Randy Johnson
Ben Sheets

All guys who's value will lower at draft time than it will be at season's end - I promise you that.

As far as who to take? Based on the structure of your league I would tell you to grab Jose Reyes if available, especially considering triples is a category (he could win that category for you by himself) - If Reyes goes #2, which is very possible, I would take Carlos Beltran (scored 127 runs last year, 3rd in the league) and gives you big #'s in almost all categories. He wont hit much more than .270, so you'll need to take contact hitters later to make up for it.

2nd trip through - DO NOT OVER PAY FOR A CATCHER. There are some excellent sleepers you can take later (Chris Ianetta, Gerald Laird, Rod Barajas) - Dont be fooled by Joe Mauer.. I would take Grady Sizemore if he is there, if not, others to look at: Manny Ramirez, Travis Hafner, Carl Crawford, Chris Carpenter, and Francisco Rodriguez - It's never too early to get an absolutely FILTHY closer.

In this order:(assuming Pujols is gone)

1. Ryan Howard
2. Soriano
3. ARod
4. Santana
I don't think Santana should go higher than 5th or 6th

On the way back, look for Ichiro, Hafner ( he has been falling in all the drafts I've done) Tejada or another big hitter. Don't take a pitcher until at least the 4th round (unless it's Santana)

Johan Santana, he always dominates, and he's coming into his prime, he could give you 20 wins and a sub-2.75 era, if he's picked #2, if they're scoring steals, get a guy like Crawford or Reyes with #3. If the league isn't scoring SB's, you should go for a power guy like Howard or a guy like Soriano or Beltran. I'm a red sox fan, so I'm not gonna draft A-Rod, but he's a fantasy dream, even when he's slumping.

Reyes in this league (I usually say Howard for H2H leagues) because he is strong at the doubles and triples cats in addition to the "normal" cats.

I'd look for Carlos Lee (doubt he'll still be there), Sizemore, Berkman or Hafner on the return.

Do not take a pitcher or catcher in the first three rounds!!

certainly stressful to call devoid of seeing what happens at a million and a pair of. probably Pujols & Hanram, yet one league i'm in had a jaw-drop 2nd while the #a million %. chosen Cano: stupid Yankees followers! yet i'm fairly advocating Migsy right here: the guy has been eating because he's been taking part in ball, and continuously hits .325 and 30+, so roll with the positive, elderly scotch this is the Tigers first-baseman...
