Usually you supervise a group of associates who provide support to customers on the telephone. This could mean taking orders, checking stock, making product suggestions, entering data into a sales order entry system, working with a finance department to obtain credit history, and/or working with a scheduling department to determine product ship dates. It might also mean coordinating product returns.

The supervisor is usually the first escalation point for customer problems and issues, so in addition to supervisory skills the position requires good customer interface skills.
