it depends on your metabolism and its different for evry person but the usual rule is that it takes the body one hour to process one standard drink which is a small beer or 30ml of spirits.

Depends how much you have drunk. It is cleared at a rate of about 1 unit of alcohol an hour, from when you stop drinking. This is why people get caught out and fail the breathalyser next morning.
If you drink 12 pints and finish the last one at midnight, it is 24 hours before the last of the alcohol has been lost by sweat and breath and metabolised in the liver.

A rule of thumb: it takes 8 hours from the time you drink it for one shot or one beer to pass through your system completely. However, your weight, health, and what you've eaten before drinking all affect this. So does your level of activity. If you are on a dance floor all night, your body will burn the alcohol off more quickly than if you are just sitting at a bar with friends.

Alcohol is metabolized at the rate of .015 of blood alcohol concentration (BAC) every hour. 1 Thus a person with a very high BAC of .15 will have no measurable alcohol in the bloodstream after ten hours (.15 divided by .015 = 10). Here are some other examples:
BAC Level Metabolism Time in Hours
.10 6.66
.08 5.33
.05 3.33
.02 1.33

High schools in New Jersey want to implement a test that can measure alcohol up to 72 hours after consumption!
They plan to test students randomly on mondays and even if they drank on friday they will fail the test....unbelievable isnt it.
How will my agency benefit by choosing RTL's EtG test?
Key benefits of using RTL's EtG Alcohol test include:
Detects recent usage more accurately and for a longer period of time than standard testing
Ideal for zero tolerance and abstinence situations
Strong indicator of alcohol ingestion within the previous 3 to 4 days

There is not a specific answer. It depends on your weight and how much you consume over a period of time. It can stay in your system from 1 hour to 10 to 12 hours.
