The first of course was GEORGE WASHINTON. He was your first president and general of the armies of the revolutionary war. They named the capital after him.
The second was ANDREW JACKSON. He was the general who won the battle of New Orleans. This battle was fought some time after the peace treaty was signed. But because of the pace of communications of those days the news didn't reach the armies until after the battle. His nickname was OLD HICKERY.
The third was ULYSSES S. GRANT. He won the campaign to capture the Confederate city and fortress of Visburg. He ended up commanding the armies of the union. After the presidency of Andrew Johnson he became the president.
The fourth was DWIGHT D. EISINGHOWER. He commanded the allied forces in Western Europe in World War II. He sucseeded Harry S. Truman to the presidency in 1952. His nickname was IKE.
Hope this helps.
