Could be a variety of reasons.

1. Bad Oil Pressure Sensor.
2. Oil pump is going bad.
3. The oil pickup in the sump is clogged and not drawing enough oil.
4. The viscosity of oil you're using is too thick or too thin.

I'd check the oil Pressure sensor first.

probably the oil sending unit is failing...could just be a bad electrical connection on the sender...would check that before i took it to a shop
