I am having trouble with my satellite installation. I can't mount my dish on the wall because it doesn't fit the dishnetwork specifications( skew, az, elevat...) Is it safe to mount my dish directly on my roof (which is not flat, its at an angle) ? If so what would I need? and will there be any leaks?? Please someone help me

You want to make sure you seal it with a proper type of silicone. Make sure you're not going to trap any water behind the mount whenever it rains. The mount itself is supposed to be grounded if only to protect it from lightning surges into your receiver. Good luck

I agree with Jester. I see a lot of homes with dishes mounted on the roof. That is a leak waiting to happen. As Jester recommended, use some brackets and mount off the side of the house or on an exhaust vent. The roof won't leak right away but over time it will.

Yes, it can be mounted on your roof safely and without any worries of leakage. You will want to go to your local hardware store and purchase a "How-to" book with clear instructions in this matter. Or have a pro. mount it for you. For me to give instructions would be too many gray areas. But with the proper tools and instructions...you can do it! Have fun...Rick

yes it can, even with shingles. but it isn't safe unless you mount it onto the wood of your house. so it would have to go deeper than the shingles.

goodluck it will work enjoy your satellite
