I made up a title for a person that I put down on my application, because I didn't know quite enough people. It was a job after a 15 year stay at home Mom.

No one checked for my entry level position. But, I ended up working for that company for 17 years in one position or another until my retirement.

I have never lied on a job application, interview or resume. And I have gotten every job I ever applied for. Lies on an application will eventually show up. Then if you decide to move on, you won't get a good reference. The old saying "honesty is the best policy" still applies.

I didn't necessarily lie, but I cut out some of my work experience on my job applications b/c I didn't want them as my references. They were bad. No one still hired me.
